Welcome Back CSD

August 18, 2021

Dear Boothbay- Boothbay Harbor CSD Parents/Guardians & Community,

It is hard to believe that the summer is coming to a close. We are delighted to welcome all of our students back to our campus for the 2021-2022 school year. We have been following the updates provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Maine Department of Education (MDOE) throughout the summer. The school safety parameters are determined by guidance from the (CDC) as well as the Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor School Board.

The 2021-2022 COVID Precaution Plan for the CSD is as follows:

  • All students PK-12th grade return to 100% in-person learning.

  • All students and staff must wear masks when on the school bus and in the school building whether vaccinated or unvaccinated.

  • Masks wearing outdoors for staff and students is optional.

  • Drop-off and pick-up procedures will remain similar to last year (more information to come from each school).

  • Additional cleaning staff will continue to work in the buildings to support healthy schools.

  • Encouraging physical distancing whenever feasible.

  • Checking in with your child(ren) for COVID symptoms before sending them to school (we will no longer utilize the RUVNA app we had last year). Screening Tool Link.

  • Moving forward we hope to welcome volunteers, presenters, and field trip experiences, following CDC parameters. More information to follow from each school.

We will continue to monitor CDC and DOE guidance as the year unfolds and keep you updated if major changes need to occur. We greatly appreciate your collaboration as you continue to practice recommended safety protocols (COVID Prevention) at home and in our community. We encourage families to stay connected and informed by following our district website and Facebook pages for important updates and information regarding our 2021-2022 COVID Precaution Plans.

As we know from our success in keeping our schools open for the majority of last school year, it takes our entire village.  We will continue to navigate this time together and remain focused on the education, health, and safety of our children and families.
