ANNUAL SET FOR SUCCESS FOR ALL AOS 98 SCHOOL STUDENTS

Students and families in grades pre-K through Grade 8 from Boothbay, Edgcomb, Southport are invited to attend Set for Success on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 3:30 - 6:30 at Boothbay Region Elementary School.

There has been some confusion about the availability of school supplies for this event.  Through discussions, the planning team decided that it was more efficient to have the school supplies purchased through the school budget. Parents will not be asked to supply school supplies for their children as the supplies will be waiting for them in their classrooms on the first day of school. Also, in an effort to conserve resources, the planning team decided that the LL Bean backpacks that students have received every year can certainly last longer than one school year. New students to our community, as well as the students entering into the following grades, will receive backpacks: PK (will also receive lunch boxes), 2nd, 4th, & 7th. All students in PK-8th grade will receive water bottles.

By delivering the supplies directly to the student’s classroom, we hope to offer a better experience for students and families at the Set for Success event by having less lines.  This will allow more time for parents and students to attend the community dinner (4:30-6:30) and to interact with all of our community partners and vendors. There will also be the chance to win amazing door prizes for attending the event and visiting the vendors.

Please know that we, along with our community partners, are ensuring that students are supplied and equipped as in years past. We apologize for any confusion surrounding Set for Success school supplies, and we thank those of you who continue to go above and beyond for our schools and community. Please consider donating to this wonderful  community event or volunteering your time to help through our new website:  https://setforsuccess.squarespace.com/  This partnership between the AOS 98 Schools, the Community Resource Council, Lincoln Health, the YMCA, and many many other community organizations highlights just how special this region is.  We hope to see you there!

Georgetown students and families are invited to attend Set for Success sponsored by MidCoast Youth Center at Morse High School on Sunday, August 27th. The specifics for Georgetown students are posted on the Georgetown Central School website and facebook page.
